Valentines Day Project

So I got this idea from about 5 different Valentines Day posts on Pinterest and just kind of took the parts of each one I liked.  I saw the card deck and 52 reasons why I love you, the match box idea where you wrap match boxes and put candy in them, and then I thought about how there is the 25 days of Christmas nativity calendar and thought to make the 14 days of Valentine's Day.  It is 14 wrapped earing boxes, 2 hersey kisses in each box, 1 small piece of paper with a reason written why I think my boyfriend is amazing, and a bigger box decorated to put the 14 boxes in.  Not too much work!

I got 14 earing boxes from Target (they didn't charge anything!) because I couldn't find small match boxes anywhere, construction paper, paint, pictures of us, and then different scrapbook stuff to decorate the small boxes and big box with.  I wrapped the small boxes in pink, red, and white construction paper...and decorated them to look cute and Valentines Day-ish.  Then I labeled each box #1-14.  Inside the boxes I put 2 hersey kisses and a short reason why I think my boyfriend is amazing.  After I had the 14 small boxes filled with the notes and candy I put them into a bigger box (found at hobby lobby) that I also decorated Valentine's Day-ish and with pictures of us.  On the box I wrote "The 14 days of Valentine's"...which reminded me a lot of the 25 days of Christmas where you'd open up a box each day in December to get a piece of candy and countdown the days until Christmas.  I wrote him a note to go along with it (because I have to ship it to him to North Carolina where he lives and coaches football) to explain that he opens one of the small boxes each day...and he opens the box that corresponds with the day of February.  This way he gets something cute and fun each day of February.

I thought this was perfect for a long distance relationship since we don't get to see each other much.  Also, it stretches out Valentines Day into 14 days!  This way you can tell someone why you care about them the two weeks leading up to Valentines day.  I am not domestic, creative, or artistic at all and this was super easy for me to do!  He got it just in time and really liked it...delicious and thoughtful!
